Johnson Library

The mission of the Johnson Library program is to help students become lifelong learners and users of information. The Johnson Library has an electronic circulation and catalog system with five computer search stations for finding books and audio visual material. All ten library computers have internet access for use by both staff and students.

All students have a weekly scheduled library class where they select leisure reading, develop research and critical thinking skills, and are taught lessons about the various genres of books in the library.

Additional library activities include Book Fairs, Accelerated Reader, Virginia Young Reader program, Virginia Festival of the Book events, Hispanic Heritage celebrations and African American History projects.

Children experiment with colonial kitchen items at the Jamestown birthday celebration.
