The Charlottesville City Schools are comprised of 6 elementary schools (PreK-4), 1 upper elementary school (5-6), 1 middle school (7-8), and 1 high school (9-12).

CCS serves approximately 4,100 students, with an average class size of 16 students for elementary, 17 for grades 5-6, 19 for grades 7-8, and 20 for grades 9-12.
