Healthy Foods in City Schools in the News
Two healthy food partners that work closely with City Schools received regional and national attention in September.
The PBS television program, Virginia Home Grown visited The City Schoolyard Garden at Buford to see how the school incorporates gardening into its curriculum. The 28-minute segment of the program can be viewed on the PBS Community Ideas Stations web site here.
Rachel Ray's non-profit organization called Yum-O featured the PB&J Fund in their How Cool is That? section of their September online newsletter. The article describes how The PB&J Fund works with Charlottesville schools and other local organizations to provide nutritious food and healhty diet cooking education to local kids.
