Dreamers’ 12-year Journey Reaches Goal
I Have a Dream Project Sponsored Entire Clark Class in 2000
The I Have a Dream group of 62 Clark Elementary School kindergarteners were adopted by local residents Chris Poe and Jeff Gaffney in 2000. Modeled after a national program, the program provides resources to support the children through their school careers and offers to pay the college tuition of every student who graduates from high school. Program Director Erica Lloyd has worked with the students and families for 10 years and the group is slated to soon graduate from CHS or schools across the country. A special celebration for the group was held at Clark Elementary, where it all began, on May 31. More information about the Dreamers is at http://www.charlottesvilledreamers.com/.
