Parent University Kicks Off With Reading and Writing Session
On Monday, October 10, parents will have a chance to learn how to strengthen reading and writing learning at home. Author Kimberly P. Johnson will discuss "Fast Tracks to Reading and Writing" at Johnson Elementary School at 6:30 p.m.
A light dinner will be served prior to the talk at 5:30 p.m. Childcare for children 4 years and older is provided. The talk will also include door prizes and a prize for the students and PTO of the school with the most attendees. Book donations of new and gently used books are being accepted.
Transportation is available for families that need a ride. Call 245-2833 to arrange transportation. Translation services are also available. Call 245-2815 to arrange for an interpreter.
Parents should pre-register by completing a registration form and returning the form to their child's school.

Charlottesville City Schools hosts a series of educational workshops for parents of school-aged children throughout the school year. The workshop series is called Parent University.
