Venable School to “Jump into Reading” October 11
Venable Elementary School is planning three great events on Tuesday, October 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. As part of National Geographic Kids magazine and Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign to break the Guinness World Records for the most people doing jumping jacks in 24 hours, Venable families will gather to do 1 minute of continuous jumping jacks. Schedule is as follows: Pre K-K: 5:30-5:45; 1st: 5:45-6:00; 2nd: 6-6:15; 3rd: 6:15-6:30; 4th: 6:30-6:45; Over Flow: 6:45-7 p.m.
Once the blood is flowing and brains are going, families are invited to read together in the school library for 15 minutes. Then, everyone involved will enjoy a pizza and salad dinner in the cafeteria, where they can talk about the books they read or about all of the jumping jacks they did!
