Annual Charlottesville High School Symphony and Chorus Concert Coming Up
February 17 at 7:30 p.m.
The CHS Symphony and Chorus presents their annual concert on Wednesday, February 17. The original concert date was February 10, but it has been postponed due to students having missed several practices with school cancellations. The concert on February 17 starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center at the high school.
Featured are 75 of the school's top orchestra and band members, plus the CHS
Chorus and Friends. Artwork by CHS students will be shown on a large screen above the stage between symphony pieces, and CHS Theatre Director David Becker will accompany the slides on the piano. The CHS Symphony will feature the first movement of Beethoven's famous 5th symphony, Glinka's Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla, Leroy Anderson's Blue Tango, and a grand finale of the rousing Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Admission is free and open to the public.
