Charlottesville High School Named One of America's Best High Schools by Newsweek Magazine

Newsweek Magazine has again recognized Charlottesville High School as one of the Best High Schools in America. Charlottesville High School ranked number 741 in a list of top high schools in the nation. The list cites the top 5 percent of public schools as measured by a ratio devised by Washington Post Education Columnist, Jay Mathews. The ratio is the number of Advanced Placement and/or International Baccalaureate tests taken by all students at a school in 2005 divided by the number of graduating seniors. All of the schools on the list have an index of at least 1.000. Newsweek's list recognizes 1,139 schools across the country. The full list of schools is available online at www.newsweek.com.
We are proud of our high school students, teachers, and staff and know that they will continue to work hard to maximize the academic potential of all of our students.
