Buford Middle School Choir Receives Excellent Rating from District Festival Judges

Yes Charlottesville, Buford Middle School has a choir, and a very good one at that. This school year the choir is under the direction of first year teacher, Mr. Travis B. Clark. Mr. Clark has attracted a dedicated corps of talented seventh and eighth grade singers. In addition to preparing for seasonal concerts, the Buford choir prepared for and competed March 16th in a district music festival. This year's festival took the Buford's choir to Charlottesville's Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center. The choir performed two pieces that they have been diligently working on for the past two weeks, even with some after school rehearsal. The two pieces that they performed were Season of Love from the movie Rent, arranged by Roger Emerson and Bound for the Promise Land by Brad Printz. The choir represented Buford Middle School well. Buford reached another high achievement by receiving excellent rating from the district festival judges.

Timothy Flynn, Principal at Buford Middle School states, "The Buford voices are a tremendous inspiration. Our choir is another example of Buford's outstanding students."

Congratulations to the 32 members of the Buford Middle School Chorus and to Mr. Clark.
