Greenbrier Elementary School Recognized as "Distinguished Title I School"
For the second consecutive year, Greenbrier Elementary School has been recognized by the Virginia Department of Education as a "Distinguished Title I School." This honor is given to a school that raises the achievement of economically disadvantaged students and exceeds state accreditation standards and annual objectives of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Greenbrier Elementary is one of 107 Title I schools in Virginia to receive this award. To celebrate its status and achievement, the school will receive a framed certificate and outdoor banner.
Dr. Faye Giglio, Principal of Greenbrier Elementary stated, "We appreciate this recognition for the hard work of our students, teachers and parents. It has truly been a school and family effort."
