Building Bridges for Success
March 28, 2009 at Walker Upper Elementary
9 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
This first-time event offers 21 workshops for families with students in grades pre-K through grade 4 about how to support learning at home. Teachers, administrators, and representatives from neighborhood organizations will share successful strategies and resources for bridging student learning, families, schools, and communities. Snacks and lunch are provided. Transportation and child care are also being offered to all.
Learn simple and creative ways to help your child be successful! Each participant may attend two sessions. Registration information will be sent home as "backpack mail" in early March or you can print forms below.
Door prizes, door prizes, door prizes!!! Goody bags for all participants!

Keynote Speaker: Alex-Zan
Charlottesville native Alex-Zan is an entertainer, educator, author, and motivator who facilitates creative presentations for children and adults. His positive messages have reached thousands throughout the country.
Lunch Speaker: Howard Ormond
As principal of New Kent Middle School for 30 years, Howard Ormond understands the issues that parents face. He is a dynamic speaker who has keynoted local and state conferences and has conducted national workshops.
