Hands on learning experiences play a part in learning for students and teachers.
4.1 - Teachers and staff choose from a broad variety of professional development opportunities throughout the year. PD sessions cover topics such as academic enrichment, classroom management, new technology tools, updates of State standards, and more.

Laura Mulligan Thomas is featured on the cover of the January 2012 issue of School Band and Orchestra magazine, a national trade publication for music educators.
- Mary Johnston, a first-grade teacher at Clark Elementary, was selected as one of two 2011 Virginia “Thinkfinity” Teachers of the Year. The award - supported through a grant from the Verizon Foundation - recognizes Virginia teachers who successfully integrate Thinkfinity resources into the classroom
